Albuquerque plastic surgeon discusses drinking alcohol around the time of a facelift.

May I drink alcohol around the time of a facelift?

Narcotics and sleeping tablets will interact with alcohol so do not drink at the same time as you take them. They will also make you drowsy so do not drive while you are taking them.

There is some suggestion that alcohol around the time of surgery may increase the risk of bleeding.

After the first few days when you are not taking pain killers, and the risk of bleeding is less, you can drink small amounts of alcohol.
