At the time of your first visit we can provide an estimate of costs. This is designed to give you an idea of the expenses but it does not guarantee these prices. This does not commit you to having surgery but makes you aware of your cost and our policy regarding late cancellation etc.
Your surgical costs may include five separate charges. First, there is the cost of the surgeon to perform the operation. Secondly, there is the charge for the use of an operating room and equipment. Your third expense is the cost of laboratory work. This includes not only any necessary laboratory work before the operation but also the costs of pathologists' fees, etc., incurred at the time of the operation. If your operation is performed under a general anesthetic, there is an additional charge made by the anesthesiologist based on the length of the operation. There may be a charge for special supplies, such as implants or garments, that need to be worn after surgery for a certain period of time. If your operation takes longer than anticipated Dr. Hudson makes no additional charge but you may receive a bill from the operating room or anesthesia. Finally, if you live more than an hour from Albuquerque you will need to stay overnight and must allow for these charges. If you live in Santa Fe we strongly encourage you to stay overnight in Albuquerque. Appropriate state and local taxes will be added to the total when you pay.

OTHER INFORMATION: Dr. Hudson's fee includes the cost of your visits to the office after surgery. If additional surgery is required, for example if a complication such as bleeding occurs, then all of the above fees may be repeated. An exception to this is after cosmetic surgery when the initial surgeon's fee may cover part of the Dr. Hudson’s fee for some corrective surgery. This policy is at the discretion of Dr. Hudson. Additional surgery will only be performed, if and when, he feels it will be safe and beneficial. In the event that Dr Hudson becomes ill, disabled or ceases to practice plastic surgery for any reason, prior to any corrective surgery, he will not be responsible for any costs, expenses, or fees, charged for additional surgery. Additional hospital, operating room, medical supplies or implants, anesthesia and other incidental charges, are always the responsibility of the patient, including those undergoing cosmetic surgery.
Surgery is not an exact science and no guarantee can be given about the outcome of your surgery. For this reason we do not give refunds if you do not achieve the result you want from surgery.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call our office at 505-242-0070. This surgical cost quote only, is valid for six months from the date below. However, to claim these prices you must present this sheet when you come to schedule.
If surgery is cancelled by the patient at short notice, it involves a considerable loss of income to our practice. For this reason we charge a cancellation fee of 25% of the cost of surgery unless we are given five working days notice of cancellation. If the patient cancels surgery within 24 hours of the scheduled surgery time, a cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of surgery is charged.
Dr. Hudson does not accept insurance payments nor deal with insurance companies of any kind. We can provide copies of your medical record at no charge, and there is no charge for our simple statement of inability to work. Neither Dr. Hudson nor his staff complete insurance forms of any kind including disability forms. At Dr. Hudson's discretion special exceptions are rarely made for completion of a form and a charge of $125/hour or part of an hour, payable in advance, is made. We have neither the staff, nor facilities to complete comprehensive billing or diagnostic coding.
A non-refundable fee of 10% is charged for scheduling cosmetic surgery. The remainder is due two weeks before surgery. The estimates for your surgical fees are:
