After chin implant surgery if you apply ice carefully for the first twenty-four to forty-eight hours you may have less pain and swelling. most surgeons recommend that you apply the ice for about fifteen minutes every hour while you are awake. There should always be something between the ice and the skin so that you do not damage the skin. After the first two days ice will probably make no difference but if you find it makes you feel more comfortable then continue for a few more days.
