This depends on the individual patient, the kind of surgery and the type of skin. Any operation for aging will usually last several years but that does not mean that at that time you will suddenly grow old. You will start to return to the more normal appearance for you at that age. These changes begin immediately after surgery. In rare cases where the skin has no elasticity, patients may experience a very early return to their preoperative state. This is most common following a rapid menopause shortly after surgery or following intense grieving and crying in the period after surgery. If this happens within a year your doctor may be able to do a second operation which may have more long lasting results. There may be a charge for this.
