Do not take aspirin for two weeks before surgery. It may increase the risk of bleeding. Remember, many over-the-counter medicines contain aspirin. So, check the label carefully. Other medicines that may increase your risk of bleeding include vitamin E and antihistamines. Many cold remedies contain antihistamines. More than 3/4 Americans take some type of nutritional supplement. It is not surprising that some of them have plastic surgery. Unfortunately some supplementation can be dangerous around the time of surgery.
