Localization of melanin pigmentation in the skin with Wood's lamp.

The authors used aWood's light (UV light) to determine the depth of melanin pigmentation in the skin. They found that the contrast in epidermal pigmentation increased while contrast in dermal pigmentation decreased under Wood's lamp illumination when compared with normal light.
