Lack of support from loved ones at the time of cosmetic plastic surgery

Unfortunately many people find that their loved ones are not as supportive as they need or expect at the time of cosmetic plastic surgery. These problems arise for many reasons. A common problem is money. The cost of surgery may be considerable and this may cause resentment. Sometimes those around us may come from a different background and have moral objections to the idea of cosmetic surgery.

The problem may simply be that your loved ones may worry about your safety or fear that after surgery your appearance may be so changed that you may not want to love them anymore.

If you are planning to change a part that your body that is a family characteristic you may also experience some resentment. Other family members may think you are rejecting the whole family along with the physical characteristic.

Family members may genuinely not understand why you want to change your appearance They may feel that you are fine the way you are. In the worse situation those around you may simply be insensitive to your needs and feelings.

To avoid these problems it is very important to talk with those close to you before surgery. In this way you can help them understand your needs for surgery and how they can help afterwards. Often it helps if they visit your doctor with you before surgery.
