Infection inside saline implants
In common with all operations breast augmentation runs the risk of infection. This can develop in the breast itself, in the pocket and capsule around the implant or in the important itself.
Studies in the laboratory have shown that the saline inside the implant can support many kinds of infection. However animal studies have shown that when the material in the implant was not contaminated with bacteria it did not develop infection. Some newer implants come prefilled with saline dn are sterilized at the factory. this may make the risk of infection even less than before.
