Almost all surgery can be repeated. Still for most patients this is not needed. As time passes you may find that you need to modify or "update" something that we did several years ago. This is usually not a problem. The operation usually lasts about 5-10 years but in some patients an early recurrence occurs and surgery is needed, even within a year. This is most common if the patient experiences a major emotional episode such as a family death or divorce. It is also seen following a rapid menopause occurring shortly after the original operation.
